We are the South Jersey DSA section of the New Jersey Immigrant Justice Working Group (IJWG). The IJWG’s main mission is to shut down ICE detention centers in New Jersey and support the empowerment of New Jersey’s immigrant communities. We demand the end of all detention and deportations, full legal, social, and political equality for all, and open borders globally.
The statewide working group meets virtually biweekly to discuss how to fight ICE from one corner of the state to the other. The South Jersey Section meets virtually on the off weeks of the statewide working group. Get involved so you can help;
- Fight the expansion of ICE facilities and actions in NJ, and actively work to close current ICE facilities!
- Conduct Know Your Rights trainings for immigrants so they can protect themselves against ICE repression!
- Build and train rapid response networks so we can have the means to directly prevent or impede deportations!
- Work to expand and create sanctuary protections for immigrants from the towns to the state!
